ABOUT MASHAEL Mashael Fal is an artist and designer from Saudi Arabia. She made her official debut on the international art scene at Art Basel in Miami in 2014. Through her art Mashael aims to create a successful merger of East and West. With a vision that every surface has the potential of a canvas, she turned to shoes and bags where she added her twist on design and incorporated the ‘Shalki’ pattern; otherwise known as ‘Al Rose’ meaning “The Rose” or ‘Al Jeneynah’ meaning “The Garden”, dates back several decades when it was one of the most widely used patterns in the central region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the gulf region. Today, the 'Shalki' is one of the main elements in Mashael's artworks and designs.
